A realisation I came to the other day

A great many people in isolation: horny af. Folornly looking forward to the day it is reasonable to go on a tindr/grindr spree. Envying the Dutch their government advice to singles (vis, establish temporarily monogamous fuckbuddy agreements).

Me: Sort of vaguely remembers that sex was nice? Was supposed to be something I was going to... prioritise... not forget about (again). Have to actively *work* to consume a fictional sex scene.

However: urgently, aimlessly yet desperately seeking Just The Right essay about sex. It must be out there somewhere. The essay that will provide combination validation and brain-rearranging insight! That will reshape my thoughts on sexuality and provide a sense of authenticity at the same time!

This is somehow the most Me mental state to have got into, geez.

I keep sort of forgetting about it, and I live with a perfectly nice partner and very much enjoy it when I remember it. These Circumstances are weird.

I regularly forget about sex, which is one reason I gravitate toward partners with noticeably higher libidos than me (someone ELSE can remember the sex! ... given i also have a chronic ldr habit, this isn't as useful as you'd think).

The desperately searching for The Perfect Insightful Essay About Sex is also not new, but it's only with everyone around going through simultaneous isolation-libdio-fuckery that I realise it might be what my brain does when any regular person's brain would start hitting the 'frustrated and horny' buttons. (That... tracks. I mean. I realised I was queer and dealt with it by going to the library. Abstraction is kind of my thing.)

A good essay is just an extremely satisfying thing. And then you can point at and be like "this, this is what it is all about, someone has summed it up", or you can think Meaningful Thoughts with it as the springboard.
