Hi! My name's Highly. I've been from the internet since before 'I'm from the internet and I'm here to caption your cats' was a funny joke. This blog (and it's LJ antecedent) has been through many permutations, and currently serves the dual functions of book-blog (public posts) and miscellaneous private keeping-up-with-friends (locked). I'm an academic specialising in medieval literatures, and a teacher of ESL. If you want my academic site it's over here. On this blog I talk mostly about books I've read /not/ for work - regular reading updates and semi-frequent book reviews. I like indie romance books, mystery novels, queer lit, Australian authors, and the odd dense theoretical tome. I deeply love fantasy fiction but (professional hazard) am weirdly picky with it, while simultaneously really loving dubious Arthuriana.
