i was really freaking about it until i started writing; within two hours i realised i could've kept going for twice that length... could've saved the topic for an honours thesis :P

between history and english, though, i've written 6.5 thousand words on very very similar subjects in the last few weeks. am REALLY sick of Celtic and Anglo Saxon bishops now. :S which does not bode well for my intention to take honours.

before these last two essays, the longest i'd written for anything at uni was 2000 words. wasn't sure i could keep up the concise and relevant act for any longer... but i think i managed. hope so. this essay is either fuckin' brilliant or abysmally dreadful, i guess i'll just have to wait and see which.

mmmm... sleepy now... can sleep as long as i like tomorrow... *happy child*

when you write essays, do you get other people to read them over with "fresh eyes" for mistakes computers can't find? I know I should, but I never do. In fact, it's pretty rare that even I read through it once it's done lol

(I realise you're sleepy, so if you somehow get this before you go to bed, I will understand if you don't reply as quickly as your efficient self often does)

hah, i'm still here. recovering from my self-inflicted net deprivation today. what? you say. net deprived? but she posted three times! ah yes. but i had my cable unplugged in between procrastinatory LJ posts, and took my laptop over to bed, because i discovered yesterday that the amount of words typed is four times greater when one has no internet access.

i usually get my father to read them. he's getting an unwilling education in church history (the poor man's an atheist, and, while a history buff, generally prefers things where people get blown up, or at least beheaded with great prejudice).
this one, though, i finished far too late for that. so i'll print and edit myself, see how that goes.

hmmm. i need an icon for rejoicing. must find something appropriate.

lol - I'm usually the one my friends turn to to get things checked... or at least, I was until all but one got too scared to ask anymore because I kind of shredded them *innocent face*. The only friend who uses me now reallyonly abuses me - two nights ago he left in the middle of my helping him with HSC stuff so he could go to a friend's place *face that says "infinite stabbing wished upon him"*. But enough of that.

You know, you could just make your own icon, or ask a friend to...

i was intending to make one, but i'd have to find an appropriate rejoicement picture first.

*glares at friends like that* i had a few like that in the HSC.

no, I meant you could create one... as in draw one or use the stock images in a graphics program (balloons and such) and then a bit o'writting, like *Party*.

so not. drawing and me are non-compatible; i didn't know there WERE stock images in graphics progams. fairly sure there aren't any in GIMP. i'll find a photo somewhere, or a movie still or something.
