Lukas, Josh: i figure one of you will check your LJ at the airport, so please tell your mother i am perfectly OK. I got back here nice and safe, and went and reported to Tock to say i was alive and had not been killed by a bus/pedestrian/Lukas.

and to all: a note on memes/fwds/ect- i don't usually do forwards in email, so i don't on here either. There've been a few re-postable thingies i've seen around that i fully support- the recent one, Lai, Jenna, is beautifully written and very moving :).
as a statement of principle, then: i do not support prejudice or hatred on the grounds of sexuality. I do not believe that such prejudice which claims to be based in Christianity is in any way supported by the texts of the New Testament, and certainly it does not stand up to the life praxis of Jesus Christ. I believe there is immense trouble caused by defining human sexuality as a polar issue- straight v. gay, or even straight v. gay/bi. (in fact the term 'straight' is quite a bad one, now that i think about it- it implied 'crookedness' or wrongness for the other party). And honestly, i don't believe its anyone's business what other people do in their romantic lives (not anyone's business to judge, at least, although its nice to know your friends and what they're looking for).
So- i haven't copied, and probably won't copy, 'forwards' from others' LJs. But that's where i stand.

That thing wasn't even a meme, its a very nice statement that I think needs to be passed on simply because sometimes people have no idea these things happen.

Then again, I'm very infectious ;) I've seen it being passed around my friendslist and out of my friendslist to more than 10 journals already! My LJ is like... Newsweek... or Entertainment Weekly you know? ;) *grins*
