FAIL:

Step 1: Amy brings in plunger, and coffee!
Step 2: Amy goes to make coffee
Step 3: Amy discovers that she's brought in the household stash of leaf tea instead of coffee
Step 4: Amy makes tea in plunger
Step 5: Amy discovers that the plunger falls apart when called upon to plunge things.

...moment of cultural mismatch. You say "plunger" and I think "rubber thing used to unplug stopped-up toilets," so, it is a good thing that Google is available to me and I am able to realize that you mean a French press or something of the like before I make an unbearably shocked comment. :D

In other ideas -- can you let the leaves brew your tea in the carafe and then just, hmm, empty it into another container to prevent things from getting bitter?

On all fronts, yes. At least you have bags, though! Would be worse if you were utterly deprived.

Same second of cultural 'wait, what?' as [personal profile] cursor_mundi, but :/ that is not cool of the plunger!

I also had the cultural "umm ... what?" reaction.

I went straight from "plunger" to "French press," but it might help that I'd call the... squishing mechanism in the French press a plunger.

Also, tea in a coffee-container, D: D: D:!
