Queensland bunch of activists wants to stick a ban on minors dating people more than five years older than them (minors seems to be meaning under eighteens, as opposed to people under the legal age of consent- which is 16 here). And ok, my mother thought it was disturbing that i was dating a nineteen year old at sixteen... briefly, and then she remembered that he was Will and for some reason he was OK with her from the moment she laid eyes on him. anyway, you can see where they're coming from.
But I for one am thinking that the legal age of consent is the legal age of consent, and if you're (legally) old enough to have sex then you're old enough to learn discernment... naturally not everyone does, but there is always a difference between what's legal and what's sensible, or moral for that matter.
