amusement. french exam this arvo, first short answer question was on whether or not we thought there was a contradiction in the idea of keeping a personal journal online. *giggles*
i made a disaster of it, i suspect, trying to explain things like friends-locking... but hey, they won't get too many positive answers, it might amuse them at least.
to think that a year ago i thought LJs were weird and warped things for those with voyeuristic and exhibitionist tendancies... (exhibitionist, me??? :P)
Naaaaa, not at all :P Especially not with your lovely avvy collection ;)
It does seem rather odd though, doesn't it? I was unpacking a couple of weeks ago and found my old paper journals, and had a bit of a flick through them. There's stuff in those I'd never post online (and stuff I can't - things cut out of the newspaper for example). But funnily enough, since I started my LJ, I've barely written a word in my paper journals. So it's obviously filling most, if not all, of the journalling urge.
since i started LJing i actually write MORE in my notebook journals. I haven't managed to discipline myself as well as I'd like... I was going to allocate two hours a week to each, meaning less LJ and more hard copy, and better time management over all.
but then i was going to disconnect my net cable, too :P
the avvies are partly explained by the fact that my icon making skills aren't up to doing shots from movies yet, and there's little point me having avvies of someone ELSE (although i've made a couple). only partly, though. the other part is i'm just vain :D
LOL! I *like* your avvies (especially the shocked expression one :D ). I have only two avvies to speak of, and both are ratties (mine). Must get more rats, and therefore more ratavvies...mmmm...rats...
Right, back in the real world.
I would like to write more in my hard copy journals - I always feel a little bit guilty about neglecting them. Now if only I knew where my current hc journal was... :P

I'm sure there's a thesis in this somewhere :P
