Brief summary of this video: two Scottish guys are talking to a woman in a short spangly blue skirt. Camera zooms in on one guy (and then on the skirt), giving us his internal monologue. "Oooh, look at that skirt - she's asking for it!". Camera cuts to a shop, in daylight. The woman is trying on pink and blue skirts. An older shop assistant asks "can I help you?". The woman answers: "Yes. I'm going out tonight, and I want to get raped. I want a skirt that will encourage a guy to have sex with me against my will." The shop assistant says: "The blue one. Definitely the blue one." The woman looks straight at camera. "As if."
Voiceover: "Nobody asks to be raped. Ever".
This ad is brilliant. I presume its meant for screening on TV, though, and I wonder about the trigger risks for the viewing public? I wonder if that's something they thought of at all? COULD you do a good anti-rape ad without running a significant trigger risk?
