can i get any more pathetic?
Jan. 11th, 2006 03:34 pmi come to sydney for purposes of getting braces tightened and visiting people. Naturally, i am now holed up in Fisher library.
Diana wrote to me about one of her swimming squad mates, who was found curled up in the corner of the change rooms after they'd been cleaned, in the middle of the off-season. He apparently missed the smell of chlorine.
I feel like that bloke. Nice library smell. Plus the added bonus of broadband *snickers*. I'd forgotten how FAST things go...
I figured out the entry-vanishment problem. I'd been backdating entries. So no more backdating, except i think for an entry i wrote yesterday and didn't post, i'll have to backdate that or it will get all out of order.
Been for a nice walk around the city, anyway. Wandered camera in hand from the orthodontists down through the botanical gardens to the Con (by accident, had no idea where i was going), and then back to Martin Place and into Pitt Street. Channel Nine has hung giant yellow banners everywhere declaring that 'This is our city in summer'. NAH DUH! I thought it was St Petersburg in autumn!
Went into Borders, didn't find anything I liked. Tried A&R, the giant store is on sale, but silly me left my gift vouchers at home. Went up to Kinokunia, and found The Princess Bride (novel), which i bought. Also stumbled across Mirrormask, but hopefully they might have that in A&R Kotara. If not, well, there are plenty of books out there that i don't own yet. *evil grin* just give me time... Sue W. is very upset because I used my christmas gift voucher, for Charlestown Square, on a book. I think she wanted me to buy clothes or bags. But I clothes coming out of my ears, and i'm donating handbags to mum because i have so many i never use. and books make a happy amy.
the Orthodontist put proper elastics on me this time, the ones that go from top to bottom. Surprisingly not as painful as i'd expected (mind you i'm dosed up on naproxen). Feels good, in a way. You kinda become addicted to the pressure or something, i think.
Got my hair cut again. Is shorter in the front than last time, but I don't think he completely got rid of the Inverse V Effect. Oh well. It's still quite long in the back, I don't think Will will kill me for this one.
Did I mention I love this uni?
right, i'm off to go smell the research library before heading for college and tockie.
