Jan. 5th, 2006 10:01 pmWell... long time no updatey...
Things what amy has learnt:
*laughing clowns are not funny. They are very, very boring, when you've spent twenty five hours in a week with them
*laughing clowns ought to be classified as gambling. i suspect you're more likely to get something of value out of a pokie machine
Things what amy has NOT learnt:
*how to eat a McFlurry without getting ice cream all over her top, her pants, her bag and her brother's hat.
the experience with the mcflurry last night was traumatic enough that i dreamt this morning about an ice cream vending machine that kept giving me ice creams until my hands were full, and i couldn't get a free hand to eat any of them and they all melted all over me.
Weird Person of the Week: my aunty pam. suspect she is actually in brain cell defecit.
Aunty Pam is concerned about the water crisis. Therefore, she does not wash the dishes. She wipes them down with toilet paper and detergent.
Quisber came out and saw me on monday. He got a gold star for officially being the first person to ever ring me up and say 'hey amy, i'm coming over', and then come over, with no forward planning whatsoever. We took lots of photos- mostly of each other and my room, but we went down the water for a while. We also read Where's My Cow with Kris doing the noises. He does a BRILLIANT hippopotomus. By the time we got to Lord Vetinari, however, he was rolling around laughing so hard that I had to do Vetinari and Lady Sybil while he composed himself.
Tuesday I did clowns by myself. It was rather dull- power was out for nearly three hours in the afternoon.
wednesday we went to nan and pop's. This was mostly boring. Nan has bought a DVD player. She has no idea what she's doing with it, but she loves gadgets. Dad's just like his mum- never happy unless he's got a new gadget to play with. He was absolutely delighted with the chance to play with Nan's DVD player, and has convinced her she needs a digital set top box as well.
We then watched Pop's video. He's in an oldies musical society, so we got to watch seven or eight little old ladies tap dance to 'Its No Business Like Show Business'; pop played some very old songs on the harmonica and then did the 'Hole in the Bucket' skit with a cross-dressing old man as Liza. This I suspect would have been funny were it not so horribly dragged out.
Then went around to Pam and Mac's; Jim was there, haven't seen him since I was knee high to a grasshopper. He made us very good cups of tea in Pam's toilet-paper cleaned mugs.
Went round to Will's today. He sent a message to say he'd be busy till eleven 30, and when i got there i found out why- he was off shopping to buy me a new birthday present, because he'd gone and lost the first one! So he goes to the top of the Ridiculously Disorganised List. Apparently it was a nice big quote compendium :(. However, he took Quis shopping with him this time, and as happens when Quis goes shopping with Will, I got a dragon :D. An incense burner this time, where you put the stick inside the sword around which the dragon is coiled, and it looks like the dragon is breathing smoke. Not particularly sweet and feminine, but very very cool.
In addition there was a magnet which reads I'm a great housekeeper- every time i leave a man I keep his house. I spy Kris behind that one too. It amuses me much, and probably sums up my housekeeping skills just right.
Will was full of compliments today. I think I'll go see him again sometime. :P Apparently I had good dress sense, and smelled nice. Plus it seems I'm a peaceful person. *shrugs* i guess his girlfriend must be REALLY stressful if i'm peaceful.
Family went to Tuggerah while I was with Will; they all came home with mountains of clothes, some camping chairs, and a fridge for me. A real bar fridge, which is actually quieter than the little coolers. It now has my magnet on it. They were meant to pick me up before will went to work, but got confuzzled and got the time wrong, so i went for a ride into adamstown. Didn't get to go out on deliveries though 'cos the family turned up while he was inside. Mum insisted on coming to get me, pity. I wanted to go for a long ride until strange hours of the morning :(. Came home with a book he provided for me to read in the car, don't think i was supposed to take it 'cos it had his bookmark in it... oh well. also came home with a vodka something or other that he didn't want. joel was very exited, and most disapointed when i said i didn't intend to drink it until i go back to college, if at all.
Will failed to remove the knot from my back. Am somewhat peeved as it's a most irritating knot, and what is Will for if not to remove knots?
Will has a teddy now :D. He says he thinks Jemimah put it there, which i suppose means she gave it to him, or possibly she stores a teddy at his house for her own use. Anyway it was very cute and Kris and I bickered over the rights to cuddle it. Kris kept making it do obscene things :( poor teddy.
and yes, that's about it. I've thought lots of things lately but most of them are none of your business.
take care all.
mood: tired but happy.
music: something in Slovenian
book: i read Tully, by Paulina Simons, earlier in the week. It was very good, very very very good indeed. Then read Anansi Boys, by Neil Gaiman. Not your usual Gaiman but most excellent. Now onto Alyzon Whitestarr, by Isobelle Carmody. Not sure what I think of that.
