highlyeccentricargh, I'm going out of my mind for boredom here... next time I see Mike H. I shall have to inform him that I am in fact an extrovert (he asked me this at Retreat, and i couldn't figure out an answer, having then been around lots of people for a few days and approaching overload). However, i'm sitting here sliding into a yucky kind of hibernation, and i don't like it one bit. I can't seem to get up the interest to do anything but read (reading is all well and good, but you can have too much of it), and whats more i'm not THINKING, except for projecting mental pictures of the next time i might get to see someone outside my family. It's like i'm in stasis until that time, and i don't like it. Sure, it'll make me nice and eager to go back at the end of summer, but it's not really restful or anything, after the first few weeks.
bah. my prospective employers still haven't rung. i guess i'll have to give them a ring tomorrow and find out what's up, if it's still a go or if i'll need to start looking for something else. I really don't want to have to look for anything else, i HATE jobhunting.
UYF christmas party on Sunday was good :D I forgot to go swimming though, that was a bit daft. Got to see El, which was joyous. She's got into some sort of art school in sydney, which had me all exited, but she doesn't think she'll go. :(((( I wanted to take El back with me!
Chris Shaw's heading up the NCYC 07 plan... I'd really love to go, and i think if i end up with work over the summer i might just manage it. Particularly as VSU is going operative in July, bad business that but i have no qualms about pulling out of the sports union. They'll get public or private funding quicksmart.
Had fish & chips with El and Peter, then went in to New Lambton, turned up half an hour late for church, but 'twas all good- we were in time for the sermon, and they had enough songs in the last half of the service to keep me happy. I think i'll try to con mum into taking me down again next sunday... or go and foist myself upon el, force her to go to church into the bargain ;)
I got all exited when we pulled up at the beach 'cos i thought I saw a Helman (Steve) car, but alas, i was mistaken. No Emma :(
Mum and I had a listen to the new Seasons of the Spirit CD on monday... my goodness they have some dreadful songs/recordings on there! However, they did For You Deep Stillness very well :D And we have the song book, so i've got a few sets of music to forward to amy, and one or two i might pass onto John as well, 'cos they work well acappella.
Discovered I lost my (illegal) copy of the first Retrospect CD. Now to find someone happy to let me re-pirate it. Such people are in short supply.
I wrote the family Christmas Epistle yesterday, too. That's how bored I am.
Watched Bootmen today. It wasn't as fantastic as i remembered- the romantic plot was hopeless, obviously thrown in because it was considered necessary for movies. However, it was worth watching for the sheer Newcastle mentality of it... not to mention the scenery. This scenery has two important aspects: 1) Newcastle- a beautiful place, and 2) Adam Garcia- a beautiful man. With very impressive shoulders, i might add.
Got so bored today i did handwashing and cleaned my dressing table. I felt like cooking again, too, once we got the gas delivered, but it's only a few days to payday, so chances are there's not much in the way of ingredients in the house. I know i cleaned us out of Caster Sugar and nearly out of Icing Sugar last week. The remains of that cake are still sitting there, waiting for someone to give up and throw it out. It really was terrible.
Got a response out of Tockie, finally... had to resort to 'You don't love me anymore, you think i smell!' but i got messages back... She says i smell beautiful. I miss the little Sith Lord :(.
