iiNet have pulled out of the censorship testing

This makes me feel happy, because I'm currently using iiNet.

*gigglesniggers*

Wikileaks is overloaded from all the Aussies who got linked to the ACMA blacklist and went to look at it!

Apparently it did include a reasonable amount of child porn and a LOT of regular porn: it's now the Great Australian Porn list!

Yeah, it did. I got a look at it a few days ago, before Wikileaks overloaded. Some of those sites had very squicky URLs.

I also feel happy, for the same reason.

By the way, did I mention that you can watch the ABC's iViewer for free, because they've got a deal with iiNet?

THANK GOD. I'm with iiNet and was wondering how it'd effect my internet use. On the one hand, I'm frequently googling prostitution, on the other, I'm a dirty kinky individual. IT WOULDN'T HAVE ENDED WELL.

I AM actually curious how that would work. If you do have legitimate reasons to be researching prostitution, how would all those stupid laws affect your internet use? In theory I might then have to stick to using books ... which sort of heads towards that whole slippery slope thing, because if the internet is all evil and bad, who is to say books are not just as threatening?? Then all those books you're aiming to read are potentially banned again?

I reckon certain people - universities, etc, would have access to a clear feed, adn then you'd have all the bungy issues of getting access to it.
