Edinburgh has a sexy station announcer.
I'm now picturing a certain French-speaking medievalist of my acquaintance giving route announcements for CityRail. I think if he doesn't get his next research grant I'll recommend it ;) It'd make a nice change from the perpetually surprised-sounding woman on the Newcastle line. ('This train goes to... SYDNEY TERMINAL?' No really, why aren't I surprised? EVERY train on that line goes to either Gosford or Sydney...)
Oh, and the Scottish newsreporter's voice isn't so unsexy either...

I mean the one who's got really dark curly hair, and her mum's African-American. The one that's very nearly as geeky as me.

I was not aware of this intense geekity. Possibly I was fooled by her social eptitude.
