It's a fine line between “used book store” and “mosh pit.”

Dean Dad shares tales of his bookshopping adventures, including the discovery of a fabulous-sounding title, 'American Nerd: the story of my people'.

This makes me excited, because I have agreed to participate in a new sport, devised by [livejournal.com profile] areyoustrange, who can't be trusted to look the same the second time you meet her.
The rules:

Basically, you round up a group of your bibliophilic friends, get them tipsy-but-not-drunk, and go to the biggest secondhand book shop you can find. Everyone has fifteen minutes to find the most hysterical book title they can manage, bonus points for a funny cover, and at the end the losers pitch in to buy the winning title.

Play it in a bookstore near you.

We absolutely must play this game in Goulds.

That's the plan, actually.

Yeah, see, I didn't see the actual original post that mentioned Goulds before I commented.

I've never understood why the guy behind the counter in Goulds is always watching TV in a bookshop.

I usually see him reading, actually. Or arguing about Marxist philosophy.

Huh. Maybe I've always been in there when his favourite programs are on.

Yes! This is where I devised it. I got the idea after B moved a book titled 'The Man Who Loved Children' into the erotica section.

*cackles* I'd love to see the face of the next person to be browsing who sees that!

I'm going to have to arrange a tournament now. *excited*

Maybe after [livejournal.com profile] daiskmeliadorn is finished with her thesis.

(Also, I dyed my hair because my regrowth was threatening to annexe Tasmania [not that that would necessarily be a bad thing].)
