Sadly, New Zealand has even fewer jobs for Anglo-Saxonists than does Australia. Sigh.

There was a time (I can't remember what was happening in Australian politics, something depressing) when we'd all sit at the table at breakfast on Saturday and stare despondantly at the paper before announcing that we were all moving to New Zealand. We did this every week for a good couple of months...

We do that with Canada! In 2004 we all said if GWB was re-elected we'd move to Canada. We didn't, but we should have.

Yes, a friend who had lived in both America *and* New Zealand thought the whole process was hilarious reminiscent of the I'm-Moving-To-Canada-Phenomenon. Which didn't stop her declaring that she intends to sit for the Bar in New Zealand rather than Australia ;)
