Academic despondancy.

My thesis is boring.
Everyone has already said what the manuscript is for. Everyone has already said all the things about bishops and Wulfstan and christian society.
The only interesting thing I have to say I can't prove in the slightest.

And I haven't finished a translation which should've taken me one week and has taken me two so far.
And the worst bit is, the Bocera won't care. SOME KIND OF EXPECTATIONS WOULD BE NICE.

If Bocera won't give you expectations, can you prod him at all? Demand something from him? He's your supervisor, so he should. Iunno. Supervise. :P

Persist! You're just up against the wall--every project has one--where you think you can't go anywhere, and you just need to get beyond it. Once you do, it'll start forming together again.

I'm fairly certain that most people working in WUlfstan studies would say that there's a lot more to be done--even with the manuscripts. And if you can't prove it, at least try to discuss it and try to tease out some of your ideas. I'm sure there's more there in your thoughts than you're giving credit for.

of course there's more to my thoughts than i'm giving credit for... it's just 11pm the night before I was supposed to submit another piece of draft, and I haven't done it OR my homework AND I'm in an extra moody sort of mood. I KNOW i'm being irrational, but that doesn't help.

Also, I haven't seen Awesome for weeks, and my supervisor isn't very good at either stroking my ego *or* terrifying me into productivity, both of which Awesome does in liberal does.

For Acadmic Blogging, Mediaeval Style. It was in my Cyberworlds class, and werre talking about what were thinking of doing for our group work assignment based on Web 2.0 and user generated content and all I could think of was "my friend has had an LJ for aaaages now, but she's recently started blogging academically about academic things and such and she has quite a following and I think it would just be aaaaawesome if I looked at why and how and whatfor it all happened". My tutor gave me a funny look, silence, and then moved on to the next person.

Then I got teamed up with a group of Too Many, and then some more people joined us, and then one girl kept saying stuff that was kinda lame and we all just had to laugh politely and then and then and then... it was awful. But the echoes of Amy Thoughts helped me through it. You are like mental drugs of happiness-making. :)

And yes, we should associate some time. The weather does call for Hot Beveraging, and I have saved myself just for you - not a single drop of heated liquid has passed my lips on campus this semester (TMI?). I have Wednesday late mornings free until 2, and then 4-6:30, or I have Thursdays from 11ish. Otherwise, I'm pretty much strapped for time. Though Tuesdays from 4 seem to have become an option. How's your schedule for associations?
