to get a person with access to a decent library and a scanner to obtain for me a copy of Patrick Wormald's article 'The Holiness of Society', contained in 'Anglo-Saxon History: Basic Readings' ed. David E. Pelteret?

ok, so i'm utterly disorganised, have failed to do any thesis preparation, and every time i'm i've been in sydney all summer i've failed to seriously think through what i needed to borrow out. The Goblin already has a list of stuff to bring up to me, but that won't be for a week and a bit yet, and this article did look awfully tasty...

I've just searched the NYU Library, no luck. Sorry!

NYU has a pretty sad library sometimes! Plus, I don't know of ANY Anglo-Saxonists here, so you guys are pretty underrepresented...

yeah, i think i heard that all the anglo-saxonists hide out at Cornell.
who's teaching your class on monday then, if not an anglo-saxonist?
well, if your library is crappy on things anglo-saxon, ours is usually decent. and i have a scanner. lemme know if there's anything you need for essays :) although being postgrad i guess you have interlibrary loan powers.
eee, i think i get the arcane powers of interlibrary loan when i get back for honours :D

Yay thanks! Tthat is still rather helpful. =) The course is being taught by someone who is...well, she's an Anglo-Saxonist on the side, but her main focus is Courtly Love-type things. We only have hobbyist Anglo-Saxonists!

oh, bollocks to courtly love.
when it comes to anglo-saxon research, incidentally, you can't go past the Old English Newsletter Database (http://www.oenewsletter.org/OENDB/index.php). Almost everything ever written about anglo-saxon, all searchable via the one database. I do love anglo-saxonists and their pedantic obession with organisation.

Ooh thanks! I will file that away for future reference...they are rather organized, and very technology-savvy it seems! The vast majority of medieval blogs are Anglo-Saxon in nature...

heh, we only SEEM technology savvy, until you realise how much of our stuff still relies on microfiche...
