What Are You Reading Wednesday
Mar. 6th, 2019 03:37 pmCurrently Reading: I made *so little progress* this week, after a really productive preceeding week!
Fiction: Yelena Moscovitch, Virtuoso, in which I am slowly losing interest; André Aciman, Call Me By Your Name, which is gorgeous
Lit Mag: Lifted Brow 'Blak Brow' edition, making slow but steady progress
Academic: Nothing
Other non-fiction: A. Revathi, The Truth About Me: A Hijra Life Story. Slowing pace as Revathi's going through a rough time.
Recently Finished:
Only hard copy finish this week was another issue of Emotions: History, Culture, Society
Online fiction:
Up Next: My remaining hard copy-to reads are an issue of Parergon, and one of JIAS. If I can knock one or both of those off, and my two current hard copies, then I have Lauren Elkin's Flaneuse for airports and the audiobook of the latest Peter Grant novel for the long-haul flight.
I also picked up a Valdemar omnibus with some Kobo bonus points the other day, and if I keep to my habit chart this week I should've accumulated enough nominal self-rewards to buy another e-book, but I'm not sure what.
Music Notes:
Along with everyone else in the known universe, I am listening to 'Wasteland, Baby' and enjoying it. Much less 'samesame' than the EP was. First priority with Nominal Habit Self-Rewards is buying that album, books come second.

Online fiction:
- Hao Jinfang (trans. Ken Liu), Folding Beijing. Dithered about listing this in goodreads (it's a novelette), ended up deciding against, just for consistency's sake. It's great! I love the combination of the mundane and the utterly speculative.
- I'm a couple of episodes in to Unwell, a 'midwestern gothic' podcast, and am tentatively enjoying it.
