highlyeccentricfine, i've been tagged. only 'cos it's you, Jenna ;)
general gist: it's a 'post twenty random facts about yourself' meme. i'm then supposed to tag seven people. as i don't think there are seven people on my flist, anyone who wants it may have it.
Twenty Things: am going to restrict my feild a bit.
Things I like:
1. Standing at the top of Fisher Library and looking down at the city.
2. Being alone in the Quad when the bells are ringing
3. Being on Manning Road and watching the planes take off from Kingsford-Smith.
4.Vegemite Cruskits. (this is a new discovery)
5. Lying on the grass under the streetlamp at the front of college at midnight.
6. Thunderstorms. Especially being outside in a thunderstorm.
7. Swimming at high tide late at night when there's a full moon and it leaves one of those cool moontrails on the water.
8. Birubi Beach when the swell is big and the water is freezing cold and really, really clear (so you can see your frostbitten toes falling off). Staying there for hours, getting pounded and tossed around until every muscle is aching and you lose all sense of time and space, it's like self-anhilation and coming alive all at once.
9. Stepping out onto the Langley walkway on a wet day, when the rain smells of eucalyptus.
10. Dawn services on Easter morning at Singleton or Muswellbrook showground. (reinstate them, dammit!)
11. U2. Especially the new album, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb. And especially the last track thereof.
12. Watching Will play the piano. Or anyone else, but I've had more opportunity to watch Will.
13. Driving with Dad. (which is to say, being in the car when Dad is driving. not the other way around)
14. Lying in Tock's room, sometimes talking. Eating her chocolate.
15. Pictures by John Howe and Alan Lee
16. Poetry by Yeats.
17. Sufi poetry- esp. Rabi'a and Rumi
18. Drinking tea with someone you know.
19.The smell of coffee, and coffee-flavour, but not the coffee itself.
20. Did i mention thunderstorms? and being outside during thunderstorms? and watching them over the water?
NOTE: I ALSO LIKE JENNA. SHE IS COOL. (happy now?) and before any of the rest of you start whinging, i like you all too :P
