A case study in Weird Dreams

After many years of travelling in January and having to be back in time for exams, apparently the fact that I've been here all month isn't good enough for my brain. Accordingly, I present you, the Thing I Dreamed Last Night.
1. I was at the parental abode in LTP. I had been home for a while. It was saturday the 21st and I needed to be back in geneva by the morning of the 23rd to invigilate exams (the exam part is true)
2. I did not have a plane ticket because Mum had assured me I wouldn't need one - if I flew to aus, she'd send me back using her new matter transporter.
3. This was all well and good except it was broken, so we had to go into Newcastle to buy a new one
4. Insert several detours in the dream about parking cars, and charging mobile phones while in cars
5. When I looked at the packaging of the matter transporter, two things became clear: a. it wasn't instantaneous and b. it was only designed for short transits. The packaging sang its praises for a 6-hour transit from mainland Florida to the Keys.
6. Mum was uncharacteristically blasé about this and insisted that given time differences, if they zapped me out of LTP on sunday night i'd arrive, six hours later, on sunday night in geneva.
7. I was being /terribly difficult/ by insisting I really did have to catch a plane instead of using this matter transporter over untested distances.
8. It was not possible to get a saturday night flight out of the local airport that would get me to an int'l transit and back to geneva in time for exam invigilation and I was going to be In Trouble.
I did not like this dream at all.
