Recipe: Lime and Ginger 'tea'
Jan. 4th, 2018 11:57 amHad a hellish descent into GVA yesterday, the only air experience I've ever had that made me seriously queasy (survived with my dignity and my lunch intact, which is just as well since easyjet had not seen fit to equip our whole row with emergency bags). Spent the early part of the evening feeling rather off-kilter, but invented a rather tasty ginger tea to console myself.
For invented, read 'simplified from this somewhat pretentious recipe'.
About 1.5 tsp minced ginger
About 1 tsp lime juice
About 1 tsp brown sugar (I didn't have honey - I suspect it might be better with 1-1.5 tsp honey)
Boiling water
Mix the first three in the base of a mug, add water.
I'm pretty sure that made in larger quantities and cooled it will make a good summer drink; or the same amount of flavourings with a dash of hot water, cooled, might work as a syrup base for soda water.
