the necessary Strikeout entry
Jun. 3rd, 2007 10:16 pmgreetings all :) i'm not particularly uptight about "Strikeout 07", as they call it, although it has made me suddenly aware that my LJ's existence depends on a bunch of servers and a company called SixApart somewhere in the US. I tend to have blind faith in the internet, which is probably a silly idea. Nevertheless, I won't rabbit on because other people do it better.

stewardess puts together the pieces of rumour, fact and apology. Self-conciously biased, of course, but nevertheless an interesting read- particularly in the light of the first one.
Fancy Backing Up Your LJ? it generates lovely book-format PDFs for time periods of your choice, but after one or two it will slyly say 'too many users are using this service, if you'd like to donate and help provide this service to more users click here".
LJ Intends to "clarify" approach to Interests: note, as the commenters below Barak have noted, that "clarify" doesn't mean "act according to the way LJ users and the OED understand "interests", which are not the same as "likes"".
I like words to mean what they mean. To that end, i have added to my LJ profile the fact that I am "interested in" interests, not likes. Because I am not particularly interested in other people's likes, although i have many of my likes on my "interests" list, in case anyone else is interested in mine.
Currently i'm the only LJer interested in "interests not likes". If you're feeling snarky, why not join me in defence of a perfectly mundane word?
