GGRRRR! i can't emphasise enough just how much this kind of thing pisses me off... first 'cos its arrogant and cruel, to sit there from your position of safety and pontificate about your holiness as opposed to someone else's wickedness. secondly 'cos it makes God a very unpleasant creature. and thirdly, somewhat selfishly (:P), cos people like that give the rest of us a bad reputation...
bad enough having to face the question of why God would allow disasters, cruelty, ect to exist, without going around telling people he CAUSES it...
oh, and you know what ELSE makes me angry? the SMH has been full of articles on 'about fifty australians missing in the new orleans area', why isn't the australian consulate/government doing more to get them out, why was a rockhampton couple rescued by a journalist and not the consulate, why don't the american authorities care more about tourists. HELLO???? in the scheme of things, a few aussies here or there are not significant. I feel for their families, really i do, but god... america has bigger fish to fry at the moment. the aussies will get out eventually, like everyone else who manages to survive. and the last thing the american government would need right now is howard over there, like one rescued bloke seems to think he ought to have been.
