i read Miranda Devine with a sort of horrific fascination. What banal occurrence can she turn into a lesson in right-wing morality this week? What meandering byways of gossip and sub-controversial politics can she ramble through, apparently aimless, on her way to a stinging conservative indictment?

Unbelievably stupid. Did the thought that perhaps women might enjoy the occasional relationship with good cooking, sex on tap and increased buying power yet a lack of the shackles of matrimony?

Or, for that matter, that women might not entirely be motivated by their "desire for children"?

Normally I can get what Miranda Devine is saying right away, and stab at her heart, but here I've got NFI what she's going on about. "Blah blah blah class ... oh yeah, last paragraph: GET MARRIED AND HAVE CHILDREN, LADIES."

I still don't know.
