My boots are falling apart.

Screw this, I'm buying docs. ASAP. There's a docs shop near central station, I think. Maybe I'll go down there on Saturday and buy SHOES WHICH WILL NOT FALL APART SO EASILY.

In other news, I have decided that henceforth I shall exercise my slightly mad desire to feed people (Hah. Seems to be the only maternal instinct I possess) on [livejournal.com profile] kitsunejin. Unless, I suppose, she decides I'm weird or a dreadful cook.

Was going to cook Speculaas and take them to Sydney tomorrow, but since I'm sick, I shall not. No one wants Virus Inna Biscuit.

I also have the maternal urge to cook for people... I love to cook for others but hate cooking for myself! I have been exercising it on Shawn. He seems to be a very willing victim of my culinary experimentation.

I really love food. Big, warm foods like spag bol and pasta and creamy casserole. It's a real kick to make a damn good meal, and it's fun to make a disaster meal, but half the smugness wears off if you can't feed it to other people.

... Yeah, I come from one of those families where food = love.

My mum and sister bought speculaas at Aldi, and they were really good so I found a recipe in a cookbook, which sadly turned out to be not very interesting sugar cookies instead of delicious speculaas. I need a good recipe, if the workmate's recipe is good can you send me it?

Usually I love to feed people too! I just, you know, have no money with which to buy food.

But that would be awesome! We should meet up again, yes. You can feed me, and then I will feed you right back!

Actually, I was talking to Kristen, and we should definitely do this when she comes up! If you don't mind providing a kitchen, I make these southern-style spare ribs that cook for like three hours...

lekker lekker lekker. I love speculaas. We normally have it around st nic's day (5th Dec), but winter's really where it's at.
If you bring some to sydney, can you show it to D.J., just to remind him how excellenter we flemish are to those wallony types?

Also, boots rule.
Ones that are REALLY made for walking (Nancy Sinatra couldn't hike in those things)

Maybe you could make speculaas in the shape of boots?
