The nesting habits of the ThesisBird:

The Thesisbird assembles its nest out of loose paper and books. It scatters its nest with food and drink: the ThesisBird's staple diet is composed of chocolate and tea.



Items such as shoes (inexplicably missing from the wardrobe), headphones and coloured pens can often be found in the nest of the Thesis!Bird, although such items have not yet been proven to have an impact on the Thesis!Bird's productivity.

This all looks very spaced-out, but I assure you the situation was much worse when I was in the middle of chapter-writing. The contents of that black folder were spread all over the place, resulting in much swearing and 'where the hell did I put it' type noises.

Sometimes the Thesis!Bird combines efforts with ,kayloulee , the Essay!Beaver, who builds fortifications using only her teeth, out of heavy books and double-sided photocopying. The curious thing about both the Thesis!Bird and the Essay!Beaver is that they build their respective homes as portable structures: the nest of the Thesis!Bird has been found to pack up neatly into a shelf in the library, where it resides in the company of the nests of other Thesis!Birds; while on the other hand, the fortifications of the Essay!Beaver are often disassembled from their location opposite the Thesis!Bird, and completely reconstructed in bedrooms and other locations.
