...why does Karl describe the rapist as her 'lover'? I admit that I've not read the text in question, so it might have been the Latin term, but it seems pretty clear that she was repeatedly raped. Nothin' 'loving' about it.

But, woah. Talk about an explicit passage in the Latin. sicut foeda sanguine in ora peccatricis projecit. Ewww.

Because the source calls him that, presumably. And also, as he noted, people keep hearing the sounds they made- he presumes that's happy sounds, (which is odd. they could surely be unhappy sounds? or just him making happy sounds?).

That's what I mean. Why does he presume happy sounds? I'd assume unhappy sounds- the struggling kind.
