yay :) well i reckon you just haven't found the good feminists... hehe. although actually queer theory is one direction that a lot of feminists have gone in. it could be that the feminist theory you've seen was out of date? it's funny how old theory can just seem totally stupid now, whereas it actually didn't seem that way then... on the question of "repressed sexuality" i reckon you could find some interesting theorists challenging that interpretation, if not in your period, then in another one and the argument could potentially be adapted to your period. i have a feeling Stuff Like That is Out There Somewhere :)
