Currently Reading:
Fiction: Robin Hobb, The Mad Ship; Tony Birch, Ordinary People. Also technically Les Trois Mousquetaires.
Poetry: Paradise Lost is on hiatus.
Lit Mag: Meanjin Spring 2019. Finally caught up!
Non-fiction: I started Bisexuality and the Eroticism of Everyday Life a while back, but haven't touched it for a bit.
Recently Finished: As in, in the past month.
Sword Dance by A.J. Demas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This was cute and fun. I suspect I would like Demas's earlier book better, but alas, it is Amazon exclusive.
The Lifted Brow Issue 41 by Zoe Dzunko
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I know there were some things in this I enjoyed, but ... I can't recall what or why. The only thing I'll really miss out of this subscription is the Law School column.
Ship of Magic by Robin Hobb
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I'm embarking on a re-read of this series, and once again I like these books better than the Fitz ones but find them slower going. It's the increased complexity of the plot, I think. Meanwhile, character-wise, Hobb really does a fine line in aggravating and immature but not entirely hateable, doesn't she?
The Craft of Love by E.E. Ottoman
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Cute, sweet, with excellent historical craft details. I wasn't satisfied with the ending - not because I require a marriage-happily-ever-after, but because I was unable to figure out what alternative they were embarking on.
Up Next: Oh, so many things. My library stack is ENORMOUS.
Music notes: I bought Grace Petrie's 'Queer as Folk' and am really loving 'Tom Paine's Bones'.
