tideru is somewhat excellent, and has excellent ideas. I can't remember why he suggested I go to Bitbent of a Thursday evening, but he did, and I took up this suggestion, and it was excellent. Formal proceedings, such as they are, are a local queer youth group thing run by/at the Woden Youth Centre (there's a youth centre, whaddya know). Low-key, possibly moderately dorky. Todd attempted to get me to play pool. I am alarmingly bad at pool.

Subsequently, dinner happened, and then hanging around in first the restaurant and then a bar with comfy couch/chair things (my priority in a bar is the squishyness of the seating), and the people were nice and there were entertaining things happening on all sides, and all up, I approve. Shall do again. Only not next week because of pesky work commitments.
