Love and Email- difference between

on of my classmates just accidentally declared love for the lecturer. he couldn't think of the verb for 'to email' and decided to make it up from the noun, emel... got tounge tied and instead of 'je vous emeler', which would have been wrong anyway... spat out 'je vous aime'.

i am amused.
