today is THE day

you know, the day when you step outside and the last of winter's crispness is gone. It's not hot- in fact it's only just warm by my standards. But there's that little bit of humidity in the air once more. Despite that the 'official' spring doesn't even start til september in Australia (am i right that we're one month out of skew with sensible countries in the northern hemisphere, where august is autumn?), this, as far as I'm concerned, is the start of summer.

It's also the City To Surf, and I'm amused to note that east-bound lanes on the Cross City Tunnel are closed for the run. Obviously, planners have chosen the route which disrupt the least traffic.
They're having all contestants run wearing red hats, and taking a satelite photo of the log line stretched out across town :). Must buy a paper tomorrow for the poster.
