Jul. 30th, 2006 12:16 pmEmelie, at formal dinner on monday, spoke of the benefits and pitfalls of foreign exchange (she's from Quebec): When you go anywhere, you take the risk that you may never come back. There's always the risk that you'll find work, or love, or just the lifestyle in the country you visit will suit you better. Of course, then you could be like me- travel to the other side of the world, only to fall for a German on exchange!
Nomi, on world politics: That's the problem with the state of Israel... it's an anomaly, we're oppressing people, we can't handle it!
Nomi, on Jewish business: Jews became usurers, because we weren't allowed to do anything, and now we own the porn industry!
Sass, on Person Of Interest: She's so cute, even you would be attracted to her!
Advice on unrequited love from the ladies of Women's College: Me: Well maybe you need a long-term plan, like 'I'm going to get this person interested in me'.
Sass: Well, I am, but that doesn't solve my immediate problem!
Nomi (at the same time): No! That would make you like US foreign policy, and that isn't even working!
Bernie, on rugby: I could hear them all, and there was beer and stuff. I just wanted to lean out and yell "Go *whoever they were playing*". But I couldn't remember they were playing, and GO THE OPPOSITION isn't much of a heckle.
