Nov. 24th, 2005 06:25 pmJenna m'dear, you're really going to hate me now... had a random koala wandering across the yard today :P He was pretty funny lookin, grey at the head with a brown rear which looked like someone had splatted it with white paint. Am pretty glad to see him, actually, they've been getting more and more scarce. This is one of the last wild koala habitats the the state, too...
Had a couple of kookies up on the verandah just now. So pretty... Dad's got them tame enough that I can pat them, and he gets them up on his hand. I tried to get one on my arm, but i'm too skittish, as soon as he moved i jumped away. Besides, those claws look pretty scary.
Apparently Dad decided to sit out on the verandah the other day, on the far end outside the screen. So he's sitting there with his book and his Vita-Weets, and just as he lifts the biscuit to eat it, the kookaburra swoops down, grabs both biscuit and dad's finger, and tries to fly off with them. It succeeded in taking the biscuit, but not the finger.
Found the map for camp tomorrow. Have food supplies and stuff, mum's gonna make me jelly tonight :D
~ *comes back later* ~
eek, this camping is a scary business. what a lot of implements there are involved... and what complicated planning...
i overboiled my eggs. They are now rather rubbery. Oh well.
collard rang, dad and i are picking up an american girl from the terrace, by the name of Amy Baylik. Life gets more interesting by the minute.
and stupid concept of the week:
cricket: Silly Point, Silly Mid Off, Silly Mid On. 'Nuff said.
Susanne's good value... she sent me a birthday card, made on tree-free paper, with artwork by Amy Brown. Hehe... I assume it's the same artist that comes up if you google me, specialises in 'fairy art' or something of the sort.
speaking of cards: i dug out my christmas cards, to send one to her, and I found one that was extraordinarily Josh... so you're getting a christmas card, josh. And on a rather silly note, i was filling in the return address and carefully wrote that i lived in Austria. Well done Amy.
I've only got about three of those cards left, and i don't think this years issue of Humourous Aussie Cards is nearly as good... oh well. I'll save a good one for you, Lai, :P The Surfing Santa ones can amuse my foreign penpals.
Hmm... think I'll install Semagic on the big comp so i can post these before I go. A whole week without me, my LJ will be very distressed.
