takes after her great grandmother
Nov. 19th, 2005 03:57 pmwas telling mum about the latest incident of Pauls Boys' Nudity...
mum: well, you came here for an education
me: yeah. Things What Amy Has Learnt: The more clothes a man wears the better he looks.
mum: you take after your great-grandmother.
me: i do?
mum: men's underwear ads had just come out, we were watching them on the TV, she turns to me and says: 'you know, I don't know why anyone bothers looking- do you?' and I had to be all, 'No, Nan, no idea, not me, I'm a good girl.'
mum came down last night, and aunty glenda... had Thai in Newtown, authentic Newtown university experience. Aunty Glenda tells me next time i'm morally obliged to try the curry.
oh, and apparently Manning Bar DOES do all ages gigs, because Ali's been down to a few. *fumes* why does no one tell me this kind of stuff, honestly?
went out to Birkenhead this morning... DANGEROUS place... first shop we saw was a formalwear place with tops twenty dollars, skirts thirty and dresses sixty. *drools* i want formal dresses, but i don't want to go to any formals. This is a bit of a problem.
Wandered around for quite some time, picked up a rather cool jacket thing in jeans west that was on a three for ten dollars rack, and mum was buying two tops. It won't last long, apparently hems are out of fashion, so it'll fray mightily. But hey, is pretty, and it'll look good with my winter skirts.
extraordinarily tired... mum had me up till midnight cleaning last night, then woke me up at six thirty by trying not to wake me up. Which is to say, something woke her up and she lay there yawning and tossing about and whatnot. Must remember to give Will bonus points for being an unobtrusive sleepover person, I'd forgotten how annoying most people can be. *is very glad she doesn't have roommates*
my stuff has multiplied this year... i have three times as many books as i started with (not all new, much of the three boxes worth is stuff that's migrated south over the course of two semesters), twice as many clothes, twice as much stationery... the car is sutffed up to the ears. Or would be, if it had ears. Now have to go home and turf out my room at home so that i can fit my stuff into it over the holidays... hopefully without going insane due to confined space...
neither el nor kris are coming to over 18s now :(. Looks like i'll have to associate with the BIG people! *is slightly skeered*
'm gonna make my daddy read me Where's My Cow tonight :D.
Wow, here we are at Hexam. Long time since I've been here. Home is always along a trainline for me. Didn't get to drive any of the way, cos it's the big car... but also 'cos i'm catatonic with exhaustion, not the best state for driving..
on the bright side, we had ice cream :D and now I'm babbling. Note to Amy: shut up.
