on superheros and unlucky cake

CSU President's Party last night, in Superhero Theme. There was much amusement... Best costumes, in my humble opinion, was a tie between Lauren Queen of Darkness with her Sceptre of The Trinity of Evil (Organised, Anal and Bitchy), and Steve 'Lightning Bolt Dude Man', in a green wetsuit with lots of random tin foil. Other creative points were Emma 'Feist Girl', with SuperPowers of Feistiness, Self Righteousness and Long-Winded Lectures On Womens Rights, not to mentioned feminist principles which by no means precluded her efforts to stuff her external underpants with various makeshift codpieces. ('I'm turning their discourse against them!')
Whether Ethan "Aqua Man"'s codpiece was makeshift or not no one was game to enquire... Jo, on first encountering him with his underpants on the outside responded immediately with: 'OH! I am spoiled!' (no one is quite sure if 'spoiled' means ruined or very lucky)
John 'Super Chaplain' brought his Sword of the Lord, being an absolutely gorgeous kantana... *envies* I got to hold it for a while :D:D
Lauren made me a birthday cake... which tasted good but LOOKED very weird, due to its unfortunate experiences in the cooking. Somehow it hadn't been cooked right through but no one noticed until it was well and truly cooled down, and bits fell of and so forth. But hey, it tasted good.
Bec Maddox got quite a surprise, she was making the usual jokes about 'and you get to have your first (wink wink) drink!', and i says 'yeah, i guess'. Much strange looks were given out.
Looks like having a good day tomorrow... despite Lauren making me get up ridiculously early for church in the morning. She says she'll take me to lunch so i have to forgive her, which sounds like a great plan to me. It might clash with the girls' 'surprise party' plans, but that's what they get for not finding out what i'm doing.
Mum rang up to say she's giving me fifty dollars for clothes... Just realised what i'm gonna buy with it too... there's a shop in Wynyard that sells the most GORGEOUS asian silk dresses... i'm so gonna buy one...
