according to something else i was reading somewhere, men are suffering from increasing body image problems thanks to male-oriented advertising (whereas women's can be blamed equally on male- and female- oriented ads). Apparently a survey of images of men in FMH and the like, compared to those in Cosmo and Cleo and all the rest, showed that men are shown a significantly more muscular and unattainable ideal of manhood than are women. Apparently the survey didn't include *gay* men's magazines, it'd be interested to see how they compared.
