Hang on hang on... the Ruddbot's building a broadband network. To do so, he's creating a 50/50 public private company which he will then sell off. Apparently none of the existing companies who applied for the job meet government requirements.
Haven't we learnt already that we don't trust the government with our net connections? How much do you want to bet that some kind of filtering was a rider on the contract?

The irrational side of me is currently thinking that the proposed high-speed broadband network is either a) an attempt to placate those against censorship by providing a better service; or b) a way to get around the slowing of the internet as a result of said filters - I'm guessing the "super fast" internet will still be faster than what most people currently have, even if it were to have filters on/in it.
Damn Ruddbot.
